How To Color Block Your Bookshelf

Color blocking bookshelves and built-ins are an awesome way to create a spectacular focal point in a room.  One of the easiest and most inexpensive ways to create interest in a space is through color.  This can be done in a few ways you can either paint or wallpaper the back of your bookcase in a bold hue.

You can also use the objects in your bookcase be they books or collections to provide the color contrasts.

A dramatic effect can also be achieved with muted tones if that’s more your jam.

Don’t feel obligated to use books any colorful collection will do.  Have fun with it, dig into your inner child and play with it until you get your desired result.  If you’re on the hunt for colored books both Etsy and Wayfair have sets of colored books for sale.
